Penlab.ink has become the premiere Pinoy komik website on the internet. For their one year anniversary, we are honored to announce that they will be featuring our Loud Paintings graphic novel, “The Good Ones.”

 

We’ve been very happy with the reception of our book so far, and so touched that a high school in Pangasinan has added it to their modern literature program. It’s a dream come true to be recognized in this way.

 

Our books will always be available for free online for those who do enjoy it, we are doing an essay contest!

  • ₱1000 / $20 / ¥125 for 2nd place

Instructions

  • Read “The Good Ones” at Penlab.ink
  • Answer the following question: What do you think?
  • Instead of a conventional school assignment essay, we want you to say exactly what you want to say after reading it, and that’s it
  • You can write a review, discuss a theme from the story, discuss a character, discuss any symbolism from the story, etc.
  • In 600 words or less, spill your guts into a coherent stream of thoughts
  • Include a creative title with your work (Not included in your word count)
  • If you go over the word count, you will be disqualified, sorry.

  • You will receive a confirmation email within 48 hours

Judging Criteria

  • We don’t think art is entirely subjective, but trying to quantify creativity is also silly
  • Give the same essay to 10 different teachers and you will get 10 different grades
  • Make something you really love and share it with us

  • The more we grow, the more contests we can hold with greater prizes
  • Please share our book, The Good Ones, to your friends on social media and tag us
